German racing driver Niklas Kruetten is set to embark on an exciting new challenge with Mercedes in the 2025 International GT Open, joining forces with Team Motopark. After previously racing together in Euroformula Open in 2020, Kruetten and Motopark are reuniting to compete in one of Europe’s most competitive GT3 championships.

Kruetten, who has made a name for himself in LMP and GT3 racing across Europe, the US, and Japan, will be driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3 alongside his teammate Robert Vișoiu. The 22-year-old is eager to take on this next chapter in his career and is confident in the team’s ability to fight for top results.

“Exciting news! I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining Team Motopark for the International GT Open campaign this year,” said Kruetten. “Returning to Motopark feels special - after racing together in Euroformula Open in 2020, it’s great to be back where it all started. Since then, I’ve had an incredible journey in LMP and GT3 racing, competing across Europe, the US, and Japan. Now, a new chapter begins as I make the switch to Mercedes-AMG machinery. I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity! With Motopark, I know I’m in the right place, and I have full confidence in the team - just like in our Formula 3 days. I’ll be sharing the car with Robert Vișoiu, and I can’t wait to fight for podiums together!”

Team Motopark, a well-established force in international motorsport, is looking forward to expanding its GT3 program in 2025. Team Principal Timo Rumpfkeil emphasized the significance of this step: “We are very happy to announce an exciting line-up for the 2025 International GT Open. It is underlying the further growth of our GT3 department. We continuously strive to develop and enhance our team, and I am confident that we are ahead of a successful 2025 season.”

With a strong driver pairing and a competitive team behind them, Kruetten and Vișoiu are set to challenge for top results in the upcoming season. The International GT Open season kicks off in Portimao on April 26/27. Until then Kruetten will join several test days.
